Birthday for my Wife and New Year
Written by Jr on 1st January 2005:
Its that time of the year again where we will see another year gone by (where we manage to survive) and looking forward to another year that, hopefully will bring prosperity, new resolution etc.
For me I have two celebrations, one is New Year and the other, my darling’s birthday.
Its strange how, especially for I am intrigued when disasters like tsunami, earthquake etc tend to happen on a certain time of the year. I was informed that between December 22 till December 31, 2004, four bright planets are easily visible in the morning sky, every morning 45 minutes before sunrise, through early January. It is said to be visible throughout North America. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the current disasters that we have been facing, but based on history, planets alignment, meteorite movements and something I remembered something from Nostradamus, which says a lot of things were going to happen, where one of it did mention a meteorite that would pass by the planet earth very close and would cause disaster that happened in the south America, and if memory serves, caused a lot of death. I also recently remembered an article that appeared in the Malay Mail (was covered briefly, obviously not an interesting subject in Malaysia, wonder why) regarding a crop circle that was found in England Opposite Silbury Hill, Wiltshire which resembles an elaborate circular formation with arcs and graduated segments, resembling a 'Greek key'. This Crop Circle features an Ancient Egypt mosaic in the center and symbols from the Mayan Calendar around the rim. The Calendar predicted the end of the world in 2012.
Interesting huh, well let’s hope it doesn’t happen then coz I remember Nostradamus saying that he saw the world end somewhere much later.
Anyway, whatever the reason that may cause such disasters, its back to basics on God Almighty’s will, we must remember we are lucky where we are and we should be thankful for what we have and to remember those who are in dire need and to lend a hand where we can.
On another note we spend New Year in a posh restaurant (first time being there myself that was introduced by a friend) that I must say was money well spent, food was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful and cozy. I personally love the feel there. I’m glad that I didn’t have to be in the middle of K.L. coz im sure the havoc would have no words to describe it.
Another big year was my darling’s birthday where we celebrated with a dinner and gave her the well deserved present she has been waiting for (which I must say I receive something very satisfying in return ahem ..ahem.. )
I hope 2005 will bring a better year than we had with less murdering, disasters and shocking news for which we are mature and educated being where we should be able to think of doing more rather than anything less than being inhuman.

Thank God Almighty - for we are here and we are luckier
We are here in 2005. Safe and sound and in peace.
Newspapers, TV, online news.... gosh... I broke down at the Mamak Barber kedai today in the arms of my husband, while Daniel is having his haircut. We purchased some newspapers to read while waiting, and my heart just bled.
A HUMUNGOUS thank you to my whole family for the beautiful gifts, some are even handmade, straight from the heart. To the thoughtful friends, the friendship and the thoughts are greater than the gifts. (I love the giftss!!!). This is one special and different birthday. For the very first time, our family didnt spend it in the midst of a maddening party crowd. We had dinner in MONTE'S, Bangsar Shopping Centre, with Pastas, Steaks, Lobsters, Chicken and not forgetting a Brownie birthday cake (??). Got our party packs alright and we pulled the strings of the crackers and sprayed noodle-like party strings (the kids calls this "Ma, spray la the mee!") among ourselves and wished each other Happy New Year with warm hugs and kisses. With that we ended 2004.

Birthday is over. I am 31+ already. Soon by god's will, before I know it, I will be 41. My daughter will be a 20 year old then. My soft, sweet, crazy-about-anything-pink daughter, Farhana.
I imagine, if she is going to be married by that age like I did (20 years old gitu). I leave it all in the hands of the Almighty for her jodoh. My one and only daughter.
Daniel is going to be in Standard One. I have made sure of his school needs are complete. For him to step into his new Primary School world without anything less if possible. To have what I use to have. To raise him and Farhana the way my parents did me. My separate lives with my ex husband doesnt stop us from raising the kids together. Putting in our money/effort/blood/sweat/tears toiled in making sure of their needs all the same just like while we were together. Aided once in a while by our respective spouses now, I see us all as one big happy family.
We may not have much, but we have our own priorities to enjoy life. We believe in that. We believe in that strongly together. We believe in closeness. We believe in making each other within close reach. So close that its an achievement to me and I felt I have been a good sister whenever I see oene of my sisters put out statements like these, like what she wrote in one of her Friendster Bulletin questionnaire:
7. WHEN YOU'RE DOWN OR NEED HELP,
WHO DO YOU CALL?
my sister dona
Reminds me a bit of "Who're you gonna call?... GHOSTBUSTERS!!!" ya know, that Ray Parker Jr song.. errr anyone remember? errrr ....nevermind.
Hey.. here is part of Dana's birthday gift. Me likey!

The only downside of all these you're happy, you have this, you have that, you're this, you're that..... are people's jealousy and wrath that could just bring you down when you are not careful and give too much face.

As the dawn emerges this morning, I thank god most of all for for all the blessings I woke up to.... the first waking hour for me being my daddy's 31 year old girl.
I will always be his little girl.
Whatever I do, he is always on my mind and heart and prayers. Tomorrow as the sun rises, insyallah will be my second day of survival pulak as a 31 year old and waking up to the dawn of the new Calendar year of 2005.
There are a lot of messages that came thru my handphone throughout the night, God bless u all, I thank you from my heart, sincerely... sweet messages thru the email... tagboard...OMG, I love you people.. thru friendster....lemme check Myspace later or even jurnal.biz if there's any. Most of them are so cute. They packaged the wish with "Happy New Year, Congratulations on the recent award and Happy Birthday" :D
I will only be able to be on YM from the office, for half a day. I have plans arranged throughout the rest of the day with the family.
My Jr have arranged for Mandarin Oriental for my birthday stay, with some-more-i-dunno-suprises... since there will be no fireworks for the children, we changed the venue. Somewhere a bit quieter. Just nice for us to spend as a family after our Jemaah prayers for the Tsunami victims.
I have been crying for the past few days , while settling my year end work at the office since the past week, looking at incoming emails of images. Images that any heart could break. Images that I think about a lot in my head when I was shopping for my children's last minute school needs, that played in my mind that TOOK ME OFF my dissapointments that my birthday celebration this time is not too much the same as last years big party moods. That puts me, in a thankful/syukur mode and I could cry with joy for there are,... well..
I have mum, I have Jr, I have *go and hug kids for a while*............ok, back.. I have Farah and Muhammad Danial, I have Lala, omg.. there's even Susie and Mimi somewhere in the house on certain days, I have my mummy and daddy in law and adik and Anne and coming-soon baby, I have my elder sister Dina and her family, I have Dana and Fawaz... and oh, Fawaz's family dah la he got 4 more adik beradik who is psycho like him + his bro in law Afzal the Rubberman... my god! I actually have a growing family, extended ones too.... huhu... the other thought I should have is: Where did all these people come from?!! They are wonderful, merry and gay and we are always laughing and drinking and eating together. This is a recipe for long life, as per quoted by GEORGE BURNS once.
Insyallah.
Some of those who dont see my updates, they also visit Pussyfooting where there are still updates about our family anyway. I have been in a wonderful, full and tiring year, but GREAT! YES.. it has been great for me, I cant deny that.
1) I got married abroad
2) I screwed up with some friends and family unintentionally before I got married (nak kawin pon marah)
3) My sister came home for vacation and found love
4) Company came up with extra incentives
5) Company share shot up to an unbelievable stock composite index
6) My children are getting an adik in 2005
7) I won another award for blogging
8) Upcoming new house with new everything
9) Husband's got a new job
10) I made wonderful new friends
11) My sister Dela is turned into a working woman
12) Shea and Farah and Daniel, most of the time officially declared themselves not as cousins, but siblings and they made a lot of wise moves and touching statements that brings a lot of happy tears to us.
There's just too many lah.. and its like at least every corner of my life is filled.
But what I can remember before shutting out 2004 is, I turned into what Jr would name as "Helga the Psycho Cleaner". I dunno why my husband would give me that name, or any names at all he calls me. That particular one is because one fine day, I woke up and went to the cash machine and took out some dosh and scuttled off to Mid Valley, Ikea (I cant help it, i'm just like any other Malaysians who loooove the feeling of European (Swedish) touch in their house!) and several parts of Klang Valley, looked for some stuff and re-vamped my room and my children's closet, my walk in closet, my shoes, clothes, make up, the DVDs and whatever I could think of within reach in my everyday life. As funny as it may sound, my husband took care of the kitchen department. He the chef remember?
Resolutions for new year? Remain none. Nothing that I would wanna change with myself. I cant change me. I will go with the flow with my life as usual. This is me. The only thing I would wanna change is maybe my hair color kot haha.
The only thing I want to maintain and remain, is being someone indispensable to the family and those that I deem as family (yeah, even if they are friends). In the office also (at least my department/boss la, orang lain department if they dont like me, its like I care la isnt it?), coz this is where my "rice-bowl" /(spaghetti-bowl)/maggi bowl is. Kat tempat lain, doesnt really matter. Because there are too many instances, I have to jaga hati orang. Too many hati to jaga and I feel like I even accidently terjaga some "black" hati-s that stabbed my hati back.
I thought of putting up one resolution. Which is to lessen my shopping habits. But I would be an abnormal urban woman if I do that. There are too many retail outlets everywhere I turn here in KL.
So, kansel lah resolution itu. Left me with none again.
Today my cousin is getting married with a reception tomorrow, the day after tomorrow is Nina and Amri's reception (hari tu adik Amri, Surina got married), mmmm... what else ha....mmm....I love weddings!!
*Dana was at a Gucci queue at Selfridges on Boxing Day, she cannot stand the cold because the line was like till outside the store, she ran away! rugi! But she did some LVuitton hunting after that sebagai ganti. Some more, trust me, for Harrods Sale on 3rd January 2005 nanti, she will go crazy again.

All my prayers to a tragic closing of 2004 for the world, The Tsunami tragedy. May those that perished in it, may they rest in peace. To the others effected, I pray as well that things will turn out better for them with the monetery aids from world class funds.
Peace to the world 2005, Happy New Year to all from Jr, me, Farah and Daniel.

The Awakening of my deep slumber
Deep slumber from blogging, is awakened for a short moment.
Just to be here and share my happiness, with the reigning winner of Anugerah Weblog Terbaik Bahasa Inggeris Geng Jurnal '03 - Pn Kaezrin (Elin). I have eventually, without much intent :D, "snatched" her award, today. :)
I would like to thank first of all God, followed by the Honorable and handsome President and his subordinates and allies, the jurors, those who voted (love you!) the committee, the members of the prestigous community of Geng Jurnal for making the occassion today such a tremendously great and happening gathering/party.
The inspirational subjects of my blog to be in English that comes with occasional spurts of informal BM are:
1) My parents who brought us up speaking a combination of Kelantanese + English at home (which I never got over and the actual BM sucked so bad that I "scored" a good P8 in the Bahasa Malaysia subject for SPM trial 1990 - what a freaking tragic result that was but I made it better in the actual SPM whereby I scored a C6)
2) My husband - who grew up in an English speaking family and got scorned by some of his Malay speaking neighbours
3) My children and niece - who speaks English in the most funniest way sometimes among them
4) My strange/weird/aneh sisters - who reads my blog like a book of THEIR OWN LIFE itself.
If I have things my way, if Larawannabe is a member of Gengjurnal, this award automatically goes to her.
I thank Hang Donat who sponsored the gift for this award which is won by www.donababygurl.com owned by Dona and if I have the chance I would belanja Dunkin Donat or McDonalds to Hang Donat. (coincidences!)
Thank you from the heart to all the readers who dropped in Enchanted Realm, who contribute to a huge number of hits on some days, be it they come in peace/good-will or with nasty comments, the root of it all, I FEEL LOVED:).
Never would I miss the chance also to congratulate all the fellow winners of the other categories who are very2 special in their own way. Its been great to be in the winning line with you cool guys! (Mak Andeh is another "girl power" in the line)
Apart from all that, Happy New Year 2005 to everyone.
MyMommies Yahoo Group, I have added another feather in your cap, after fellow sister/mommy, Elin did.
Last but not least, I close my eyes, and kiss my sister far far away, in East London, celebrating her birthday without her family (and especially her Fawaz). I am so happy for her these days and I'm not ashamed to admit openly that she have found herself a trustable and loving man in her life at this moment and that eases her life being away from us. (or issit worsen?) hehe. After all that she has been through. God is great. Darling, you are so loved dearly and even without you here on your 26th birthday (on the 27th of December), I hope you enjoy my "gift in advance" anyway. Dont worry. nanti when you come back, your gift from Fuzz will be berlipat ganda.
Cheers to a fruitful 2005. I've gone back to bed.
